Turandot. Il mondo e' pieno di pazzi innamorati.
Nel centenario di Turandot, questo progetto assume l'enigma come principio creativo. Come nell'opera, la verita' non si conquista: si manifesta nell'attesa, nello spazio tra desiderio e rifiuto, tra cio' che appare e cio' che continua a sottrarsi. Marmo, legno, sughero, rattan, cartone, cuoio e scagliola affermano ciascuno la propria autonomia. Nel loro incontro non si fondono, ma restano in dialogo, conservando la propria natura mentre danno origine a una forma unitaria. Le otto collezioni abitano la soglia tra presenza e sottrazione, tra volto e materia, tra permanenza e trasformazione. Ognuna esplora una diversa declinazione del rapporto tra materia e forma, tra funzione e simbolo. La maschera, presente in ogni collezione, non cela ma rende possibile l'incontro. E' il volto che scegliamo di offrire all'altro, la soglia in cui l’identita' si espone senza mai esaurirsi. Come i pazzi innamorati evocati da Turandot, vive della tensione tra desiderio e mistero: non pretende di rivelare una verita' definitiva, ma custodisce cio' che resta irriducibile a ogni spiegazione.

I GUARDIANI
Due figure, due presenze, due guardiani silenziosi. Il Sicilian Rose e il Diaspro Antico di Sicilia compongono il basamento, una materia antica che radica la forma nel tempo. Al di sopra, il sughero naturale e il sughero tostato si elevano come teste rituali: una morbida e tondeggiante, l'altra costruita per strati, rigorosa e geometrica. La maschera non e' scolpita, ma nasce dalla sovrapposizione. E' il punto di incontro tra due corpi autonomi, il momento in cui la relazione tra le materie genera un volto e trasforma l'oggetto in presenza. Come due custodi posti sulla soglia dell'enigma di Turandot, queste forme non raccontano una storia ne' offrono una risposta. Sorvegliano il confine tra visibile e invisibile, tra memoria e attesa, evocando la forza archetipica delle immagini rituali. Pochi segni, una costruzione essenziale, un'identita' che emerge dal silenzio. Piu' che contenitori, due apparizioni che sembrano vegliare sul mistero che custodiscono.

Turandot. The world is full of mad lovers.
On the centenary of Turandot, this project embraces the enigma as its creative principle. As in the opera, truth is never conquered; it reveals itself through waiting, in the space between desire and refusal, between what appears and what continues to elude us. Marble, wood, cork, rattan, cardboard, leather, and scagliola each assert their own autonomy. In coming together they do not merge, but remain in dialogue, preserving their individual nature while giving rise to a unified form. The eight collections inhabit the threshold between presence and absence, between face and matter, permanence and transformation. Each explores a different articulation of the relationship between material and form, function and symbol. The mask, present throughout every collection, does not conceal but makes encounter possible. It is the face we choose to offer to another the threshold where identity reveals itself without ever becoming exhausted. Like the mad lovers evoked in Turandot, it exists within the tension between desire and mystery: it does not seek to disclose a definitive truth but preserves what remains irreducible to explanation.

I GUARDIANI
Two figures, two presences, two silent guardians. Sicilian Rose and Diaspro Antico di Sicilia form the base, ancient materials that anchor the composition in deep time. Above them, natural cork and toasted cork rise as ritual heads: one soft and rounded, the other square and layered, defined by a precise geometric order. The mask is not carved but emerges through superimposition. It is born at the point where two autonomous bodies meet, where the relationship between materials gives rise to a face and transforms the object into a presence. Like sentinels standing at the threshold of Turandot's enigma, these forms neither tell a story nor offer an answer. They guard the boundary between the visible and the invisible, between memory and expectation, evoking the archetypal power of ritual images. With only a few essential signs, an identity emerges from silence. More than vessels, they appear as quiet presences, watching over the mystery they are entrusted to keep.
